Described as “...superb…” by the Chicago Classical Review, violinist Njioma Chinyere Grevious is emerging as a passionate and versatile solo, chamber and orchestral performer. She is a graduate of The Juilliard School and a winner of its John Erskine Prize for scholastic and artistic achievement. In 2024, she was nominated as a Classic FM ‘Rising Star’.

A prolific competition winner, Njioma won both the Robert F. Smith First Prize and Audience Choice awards in the Senior Division of the Sphinx Competition, and joint prizes at the 2023 CAG/YCAT international auditions. Previous successes include concerto competitions at the University of Delaware and the Newark Symphony Orchestra, and First Prizes for Performance and Interpretation in the 2018 Prix Ravel in Fontainebleau, France. 

Appearances in 2026 include recitals in New York City and San Francisco and concerto performances with the Springfield and Bucks County Symphony Orchestras, the Chicago Philharmonic and the Indianapolis Symphony featuring the Sphinx Organisation. Njioma will also be on tour in June with the Chineke! Orchestra in London, Vienna, Lugano and Amsterdam. The 2024/25 season saw Njioma’s debut as a soloist at Carnegie Hall with the Sphinx Virtuosi, as well as appearing with the Florence Symphony Orchestra. In Spring 2025 she embarked on her debut UK recital tour, with performances at Wiltshire Music and the Barber Institute in Birmingham, as well as a debut at Wigmore Hall in London. In July, she performed Coleridge-Taylor’s Violin Concerto for her debut at the Concertgebouw with the Brussels Philharmonic under the direction of Marzena Daikun.

As a founding member of the Abeo Quartet, she and her colleagues have won numerous prizes including First Prize and the Audience Favorite Prize at the Yellow Springs Chamber Music Competition 2022, and Third Prize of the 2023 Bad Tölz International String Quartet Competition.
