"...Trio Concept’s musicians have thus proven themselves to be young people able to combine, without any haughtiness, a certain artistic and professional accuracy with a deep ethical commitment; they are part of a beautiful generation, a generation that we older people have a duty to support and guide into the future, because they fully deserve it..."

Trio Concept

Founded in 2013, the Trio Concept were winners at the 2023 YCAT International Auditions at Wigmore Hall, and have won multiple prestigious awards including the First Prize at the 2023 Schoenfeld International String Competition in Harbin, China and the Prix Paternot at Verbier Festival in 2024, the highest recognition bestowed by the Verbier Festival Academy, at which they were also Ensemble-in-Residence.

In their native Italy, the Trio Concept have garnered equal attention as the winner of the Second Prize at the 20th edition of the Premio Trio di Trieste in 2019, where they were also awarded three special prizes - with an average age of 20 at the time, the Trio was the youngest chamber group ever so awarded in the history of the competition.

The Trio are ‘ECHO Rising Stars’ for the 2025/2026 season, an accolade which will see them embark on a tour of some of Europe’s most prestigious concert venues, including Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Philharmonie de Paris, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and Konzerthaus Dortmund.

Highlights of the 2024/25 season include their debuts at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Konzerthaus Berlin and Frankfurt Alte Oper, plus a return to Wigmore Hall. They also performed Beethoven’s Triple Concerto in Orvieto and Ravenna in Italy, and made their debut in Taiwan. They are an ensemble in residence for ProQuartet in Paris, and were previously an ECMA Ensemble at the European Chamber Music Academy.

The Trio have been supported by the Fondazione De Sono since 2020; and they are also extremely grateful to Louise Kaye for her support over the course of their time with YCAT.

Press reviews

“Both from a technical and expressive point of view, Trio Chagall […] does not appear to be a group of ex wunderkind nor of young promises, but rather an ensemble of mature musicians, able to deeply relate with the score, regardless of the composer or period."
